Reviving Africa is officially a not-for-profit organization within Canada. Our next goal is to achieve charity status with the Canadian government.
CHARITY STATUS
We are currently working with a lawyer to gain the official status as a charity within Canada. The process normally takes about 7-8 weeks and should be completed between April and May of 2023.
WHY CHARITY STATUS?
Being recognized as a charity by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) would:
- Allow us to provide tax-deductible receipts for donations
- Expand our support base with individuals and corporations
- Keep us accountable financially
- Gain more of our supporters’ and donors’ trust
